Long-form essays on the systems behind intelligence.
A small workshop for image-first reports on the machinery the modern world runs on — silicon, software, networks, and the value that flows across them. Each report is built from scratch: original diagrams, primary sources, no slop.
Published
Each report is a self-contained book — readable online with an AI tutor and full search, or downloadable as a PDF. New reports land here as they ship.
From Sand to Superintelligence
A 42-chapter visual journey through silicon — from the quartzite mine to a frontier model's first thought, and onward to the networks of agents now wiring those thoughts together. Realistic, not hyped.
The Agentic Enterprise
A 40-chapter field guide to building, governing, and deploying agentic AI inside real organisations — from the frameworks reshaping the stack to the four pillars every team needs to grade themselves against. Includes an interactive readiness scorecard.
Building an Agentic Enterprise
A 21-chapter practitioner's report on shipping agentic AI inside real organizations — process mapping, NIST AI RMF as a working spine, real case studies from Klarna, JPMorgan, and McDonald's, and an honest 30-60-90 plan you can take to a steering committee on Monday.
Private Equity and Venture Capital
A 38-chapter complete professional guide to private markets — fund structure, LPAs, fund economics and waterfalls, sourcing and diligence, valuation by every relevant method, term sheets and cap-table mechanics, value creation, exits, secondaries and continuation vehicles, and three integrated end-to-end cases.
From Tokens to Embodied Minds
A graduate-level study path from the linear algebra inside a transformer to the dual-system humanoid foundation models that turn tokens into actions. Part I is what a frontier model is. Part II is how it ships. Part III is how it gets a body. Image-first, no filler, no motivational language.
§ About the lab
Reports Lab is a single-author workshop. Every report is researched and written from primary sources, illustrated with original SVG diagrams, and laid out by hand. There is no template, no CMS, and no boilerplate prose.
The aim is the kind of long-form writing that used to live in trade journals and now mostly lives nowhere — patient, image-first explanations of complex systems, written for people who want depth without filler.
Source code, content, and diagrams are open on GitHub. Each report is a static site you can download and host yourself.
